Hey guys. I know we are all busy. Spouse. Kids. Work. Chores around the house. Life in general.
That is actually what led to us developing the 400°F Oven technique. It is rather quick and still tastes good as well as good for you. The main key to it is timing, which I will explain in a minute.
In the images shown here (before and after) you will see some great cruciferous veggies (broccoli and cauliflower which are both good for testosterone production), vitamin packed carrots,
non-antibiotic pork chops and naturally sweet plantains for a desert.
What we did was preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). We took 2 baking sheets and sprayed avocado oil. It has a high smoke point. Oils with a higher smoke point are commonly better for you because they are less carcinogenic (cancer causing).
In the first baking sheet, we spread the veggies out on it and seasoned it with a little Himalayan salt and black pepper. And in the second baking sheet, we cut up pork chops in smaller bite sized pieces and arranged on one end of the baking sheet. We sprayed the top of the pork chops with avocado oil and used the same Himalayan salt and black pepper on it.
In the images, you see the plantains in the baking sheet with everything else. This is for display only. This is where the timing comes in. We placed the veggies and pork chops in the 400°F oven for 15 minutes and set a timer.
When the timer went off, we took the pork chop tray out and placed the plantains on the open area. Then we put the tray back in the oven with the veggies and cooked it for 25 more minutes.
The veggies and pork chops take a total of 40 minutes to cook and the plantains take 25 minutes to cook.
Please note, the plantains came from a frozen bag and not fresh green ones.
Also, if you like your pork chops to be juicy, cook them on a separate tray than the plantains. Then take another baking sheet and turn it upside down over the pork chops or cover them loosely with aluminum foil. This will keep the moisture in.
Additionally, the thinner the pork chops, the quicker they cook. So if you cook them uncovered for 40 minutes and they are thicker, they will retain more moisture. If they are thinner, they will be drier.
You see, you do not have to have a lot of time or skill to still eat well, get full and actually use minimal pots and pans to cook. This technique can be used on a lot of different combinations. It is basically a “set it and forget it” recipe.
